One of Republic’s coolest places to eat, the Freckle Face Gourmet serves homemade, gourmet sandwiches and burgers. They specialize in great tasting pulled-pork and smoked turkey sandwiches, from meats smoked on site; and sirloin burgers made from locally-raised cattle.  They also make their own sauces; cut their own skinny fries and crinkle fries; and grind their own beef for their gourmet burgers.  Their side dishes include their own hand-cut skinny fries and crinkle fries; yummy beer-battered onion rings, (fresh) jalapenos, and (a local favorite) deep-fried pickles.

Freckle Face Gourmet’s Sassy Pig Sandwich: generous helping of pulled-pork on ciabata, with jalapenos, pepper jack cheese, and slaw. Deep-fried pickles and special dipping sauce on the side.

Their signature Pulled Pork sandwich includes a heaping bun full of slow-smoked “’till it falls off the bone” shredded pork served on a Hawaiian sweet roll, topped with barbecue sauce, cheddar cheese, and coleslaw.

For the morning crowd, they serve breakfast burritos, cinnamon french toast, breakfast sandwiches, and hash brown patty.

Until recently, Freckle Face has operated out of a food truck.  They’ve now moved to a brick and mortar location on Republic’s historic Clark Ave (main street).
