Curlew Lake (870 acres)
Curlew Lake provides the perfect environment for deep-lake trolling and bait fishing for net-pen reared rainbow trout (spring and early summer), large mouth bass (summer and fall), and tiger muskies. The lake is located on SR-21, just four miles northeast of Republic, Washington. Public picnicking, camping, and a public boat ramp are available at Curlew Lake State Park. Swan Lake (52 acres)
Swan Lake is a high-elevation (3,641 feet) lake frequented by local anglers and fly fishers after brook, rainbow, and cutthroat trout. Located about 10 miles southwest of Republic, up the scatter creek drainage, it's one of a cluster of small lakes (Ferry, Long, and Fish Lakes). Camping is available at the Forest Service campground, located on the east shore. Stocked annually with rainbow trout fry. Open season begins the last Saturday in April and runs through October 31.
