May 25th, 2012 (day 19 of the rally), drivers of the 2012 Trans-America Endurance Rally stopped for lunch in Republic, Washington. Their next stop was Osoyoos, British Columbia. The 31-day rally is two legs long: the first from New York to Vancouver B.C., and the second from Vancouver to Anchorage, Alaska.
The residents of Republic were treated to a gorgeous show of cars including Mercedes, Jaguars, Porsches, a vintage Rolls Royce, a 1920′s Bentley, a 1969 SS Camaro and a 1967 Mustang convertible, as well as a 1960 (James-Bond era) Aston-Martin DB4, and a 1937 Dodge coupe. Car aficionados were in heaven.
Before moving on, many drivers lunched in Republic at Esther’s Restaurant and the Baker’s Stone Bakery, and several visited Harding’s Hardware for supplies.
